ABOUT THE ARTIST

  Lia Sallemi is a New York/New Jersey based makeup artist who has worked on hundreds of faces throughout her years of experience. At an early age, she developed a fascination with horror movies and character design. She was amazed with the process of turning actors into different creatures. This love for makeup led her to attend Empire Beauty School in New Jersey, where she obtained a cosmetology license in 2017.

     Soon after graduating beauty school, Lia began attending Makeup Designory (MUD) in New York City, where she completed the Master’s Program. It was during this intensive training that she executed makeup and hair looks for a series of beauty, fashion, and special effects photoshoots and designed a range of characters. Part of her education included sculpting, molding, and casting prosthetics. She has worked as an artist for special occasions, including proms, graduations, and weddings. She has also been a key makeup artist for small plays.

     She looks forward to evolving and refining her art and designing more intricate characters. Lia continues to seek out opportunities to bring characters to life and hopes to inspire and amaze people in the same way she was moved as a child. Making every individual feel like the best version of themselves is a goal she strives to accomplish.
